This workshop examines the role of context and the types of contexts impacting (i) leadership effectiveness and (ii) institutional effectiveness. Seven labels/layers of context are examined to assist different organisational actors in their understanding and sense-making of the range of factors influencing organisational and individual efficiency.

Leading organisational change in equity issues – Training and Institutional support

This module considers the unique nature of organisations and individual and organisational barriers to change. It also offers examples and case studies of how leaders can approach leading change in areas of equity, the kinds of leadership strategies and approaches used. In addition, it considers the importance of action planning, monitoring and evaluation in leading and sustaining change in equity debates and practice.

This workshop is essential for governors and educational/ school leaders seeking an understanding of their role and how they could approach tackling racism in organisations. It examines current regulations and the duties held by different leaders under these legislations and suggests ways leaders may approach fulfilling these duties.

Decolonising and diversifying the curriculum – Workshop and Institutional support 

This module supports learning leaders/ subject leaders in understanding conceptual differences in terms of what a diverse, decolonised and inclusive curriculum means. It also helps us to understand why an institution’s curriculum needs to reflect all of society, and how this could be done through a range of review and audit tools.

Let’s talk about race: developing a shared language and practice – Training and Institutional support

This module is designed to support staff and students in their journey to Anti-racism. It provides a space for difficult conversations about race/ racism, critical reflection on the self and the role of the leader in tackling race discrimination, and opportunities to learn and develop a race conscious and race inclusive language and practice.

Building and sustaining a racially inclusive organisation: culture and practice – Training and Institutional support

This module examines the role of (i) individuals (ii) practices and (iii) policies in replicating and/or dismantling inequity in organisations. It will ascertain the changes an organisation thinks are needed; support the organisation by reviewing policies and gathering evidence of gaps or deficiencies in these – and thereafter make clear recommendations for improvements. Organisations can be further supported through action planning, implementation planning and delivery, monitoring and evaluation.
